Margaret Wente's appearance at the McNally Robinson store in Don Mills on December 3 was probably the last such function at the store before it declared bankruptcy and closed. She was interviewed by writer David Hayes and promoted her last book You Can't Say that in Canada.
The Globe and Mail said these author functions usually only attracted six to 10 people but Wente drew a lot more. Unfortunately, not enough to save the store.
